Iceland Express Reveals New US Routes
Iceland Express is about to grace the aviation industry as it reveals bigger plans throughout 2010 and 2011, launching three new routes to North America.
After the announcement of its New York route that will have a daily roundtrip flight starting June 2011, Iceland Express has now disclosed its new services to Orlando, Chicago, and Boston.
“Our New York route was such a success that we wanted to branch out and try flying to other locations in America, as well as offer a lot more flights to the Big Apple,” says Matthias Imsland, CEO of Iceland Express.
“Orlando has always been a very popular destination for Icelanders as well as travellers from across Europe. Boston and Chicago are also great destinations for these markets as they are quick to get to and we are able to offer very competitive rates, allowing our customers to see a lot more of America for a fraction of the cost,” he said.
The Orlando service will be effective from October 2-24 this year, which will run on a temporary basis. The planes assign to the said route will fly every Saturday from London Gatwick, with return flights scheduled to depart on a Sunday. Prices starts at US$348 (£224) one-way including taxes.
Meanwhile, Iceland Express’ weekly Chicago service will launch on June 10 next year, scheduled to operate every Friday from London Gatwick. Tickets will start at US$343 (£221) one-way, taxes included.
Boston flights are arranged to begin on June 13, 2011 and will depart from London Gatwick four times a week – Monday to Thursday. Flights will also offer a stopover in Reykjavik for all flights to the USA.
