Royal Aloha Slashes Fees for New Members

Non-profit timeshare company Royal Aloha Vacation Club (RAVC) has announced the reduction of its perpetual membership initiation fees by 60% as part of its 34th anniversary celebration. The promo, which lasts only until September 20, 2011, covers all nine destinations including Waikiki, Kona and Maui, Hawaii; Lake Tahoe, Chandler, Branson and Oregon, US; Marbella, Spain; and Acapulco, Mexico.

Under the promo, every new member will receive a free iPad 2 tablet for a one-time initiation fee of $1,295 for one-bedroom/one-week membership, or $2,495 for two-bedroom/one-week application. Both packages include a lifetime RAVC membership, tax and escrow closing fees, and use of any RAVC location for a week each year. The free iPad 2 will be given in the form of an Apple Store gift card equivalent to $499.

Annual maintenance fee is currently placed at $611 for one-bedroom units, and $746 for two bedrooms. This is equivalent to nightly charges of $87 and $107, respectively.   Depending on the size of the unit, each has a capacity of up to six guests. Vacation weeks can be used for a full three years prior to expiration. Members can use exchange privileges through Resort Condominium International (RCI) and Interval International (II) for a minimal additional fee of $135. Current exchange offers include vacation packages in Liki Tiki Village in Florida; Lawai Beach Resort in Kauai; and Club de Soleil, Tahiti or Tahiti Village Resorts in Las Vegas.

Current members will also be given free iPod Shuffles in the form of an Apple Store gift card worth $99 for every new member they refer. Once that referral has formally purchased a membership, the free gift will be mailed directly to the referring party.

One of the first vacation clubs ever established in North America, RAVC is owned and managed by members who have now increased to more than 8,500. It has 227 condominium units, with the main office located in Honolulu. Interval International has been in the vacation ownership market for over 30 years, while RCI has been around since 1974. Both RAVC partners share are known for exchange vacation packages with locations around the world.
