Fairfield Resorts was founded in 1966 and became the largest timeshare company in the world by virtue of membership. In 2006, the company announced a collaboration with Wyndham to become Wyndham Vacation Resorts, a subsidiary of the Wyndham Worldwide Corporation.

The Fairfield Exchange (FAX) system is the 3rd largest timeshare exchange network in the world, behind RCI and Interval International. Members can use their points both for resort stays and a wide variety of travel/leisure products including airfare, cruises, accommodations and specialized leisure activities and attractions.

Fairfield has over 340,000 vacation-owning households and $500 million in annual vacation ownership sales. The company has 70 resorts across the US and Hawaii, in addition to thousands more through Wyndham’s extensive affiliation programs.

The Fairfield Exchange (FAX) system uses three tiers: the standard Fairfield Points, which offers internal exchanges to participating Fairfield resorts during three designated seasons; FairShare Plus, a reservation system that allows members to use points that are symbolic of their vacation ownership to make reservations at participating resorts; and LeisurePlan, a travel-related benefits program that offers entertainment, travel, recreational opportunities, and discounts.
