Celebrity Resorts was founded in 2003 as a regional timeshare company that quickly expanded when it acquired the majority of the timeshare assets of Leisure Industries. Considered by most to be one of the most celebrated timeshare companies of today and one of the fastest growing in the industry, Celebrity Resorts offers an exceptionally dynamic vacation experience to all its guests.

The company owns resorts, timeshare condominiums, parks, golf courses and casinos in the US and Hawaii. Some of the resorts are affiliated with RCI and Interval International. Since its founding, Celebrity Resorts has extended its services to offer condotel development, financial and management services including an exchange company.

With the acquisition of four more properties and 15,000 owner families from American Vacation Resorts in 2004, Celebrity Resort, since its conception easily became one of the fastest growing companies in the timeshare industry. In 2005, the company won the management contracts of six other resorts, adding 22,000 owner families to its growing numbers. The purchase led to the 2006 development of a centralized system of operations based in Orlando, FL. On March 5, 2010, however, the company filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
