Royal Holiday Club, founded in 1983, is a timeshare developer based in Mexico that operates resorts in the country, the US and the Caribbean. The company doesn’t own some of the properties but leases them, allowing it to offer timeshares in major cities such as New York and LA.
RHC offers two types of ownership: fixed week and point-based. Because of Mexican laws which prohibit foreigners from owning land, both ownerships are on a “right-to-use” basis instead of a deeded title, with a fixed expiration date.
RHC counts over 65,000 members and holds alliances with RCI, Vacation Resorts International (VRI), International Cruise & Exchange (ICE) Gallery and Club La Costa in Europe.

However, the company seems to be turning around, with the BBB significantly changing it 2007 rating of F to B+ in 2010. In addition, last year RHC recorded only 1.3 complaints out of every 1,000 members, a decrease of 28 percent compared to 2008.
